If you are going through this problem, then you should unfollow accounts prior to following new ones.
Step 1 : Go to the account avatar in the lower-right corner of your Instagram app.
Step 2 : Select the Following option given in the upper-right corner of your screen.
Step 3 : Go through the list of accounts and unfollow the accounts that you no longer want to follow.
If you find that an app is misbehaving on your device, then you must restart your system to fix cache files and corrupted memory. First of all, you must try to close the Instagram app completely.
After that, you need to run Instagram one more time. In case the issue is still appearing, then power off your Android device or iOS device and then turn it on again. After that, try using Instagram one more time.
In case you have not updated your apps in a long time, then that mans Instagram app you are using is outdated. You must enable automatic updates to keep all the apps updated.

Step 5 : Select every permission one at a time and then select the option of Allow only while using the app. After that, select the back arrow given at the top to go back to the previous screen and then go to the next permission.
If you are using an iOS smartphone, then carry out the steps mentioned below.
Step 1 : Launch the Settings app.
Step 2 : After that, go down to the list of apps and then select Instagram.
Step 3 : Turn on every permission like Photos, Contacts, Camera, photos, and Microphone.
If the above-mentioned troubleshooting solutions did not help you in resolving your problem, then you must go to the help center of Instagram and report the issue you are experiencing.
Step 1 : Select the avatar account given at the lower-right corner of your Instagram app.
Step 2 : Click on the three-line menu given at the upper-right corner and then select settings.
Step 3 : After that, go to the Help option.
Step 4 : At the Help Center, you must report the issue you are troubled with and then read help and support articles of Instagram.
If your problem does not get fixed by applying the troubleshooting solutions mentioned above, then you must try to open Instagram on a browser. You can also try running Instagram on your device and then check if the issue is with the device particularly.
If you are already using Instagram on your browser and you do not have another available device, then you should try a different browser.
