How to Get Netflix on a Non-Smart TV?
This article describes how to use Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV Stick, a video gaming console, and even your laptop to stream Netflix to just a non-smart TV. Uploading Netflix to your Apple TV requires different steps based on the version of your Apple TV.
Apple TV 2 or Apple TV 3
Make sure you're on the Home screen before following the instructions below to link your Apple TV 2 or 3 to your Netflix subscription.
- Choose Netflix from the Apple TV's main menu.
- Are you a registered member? Please log in.
- Fill with your Netflix password as well as your email address.
- Your Netflix account has been linked to your device.
Apple TV 4 or Apple TV 4K
Make sure you're on the Home screen before following the instructions below and then link your Apple TV 4 or 4K to your Netflix account.
- Choose the App Store from the home screen.
- Browse for Netflix within the App Store and find it, and click Get to begin the installation.
- The Netflix application will show here on the home screen following downloading.
- Open the Netflix app.
- To use an active Netflix account, choose Sign In.
- Add your Netflix email address and password after clicking Sign In.
- Your Netflix account is now linked to your device.
With Roku, You can Watch Netflix on a Non-Smart TV
Watch Netflix programming on your non-smart TV with Netflix on your Roku. To use a Roku to stream Netflix, go over to the Roku sign-up website and establish a login, then complete the steps following. The instructions for a Roku 1 and subsequent Roku devices are different.
- Click to Home and choose Netflix from the primary Home screen.
- Select Yes from the drop-down menu. Do you have a Netflix account?
- A code will show on the screen. On the Netflix account activation screen, input this activation code.
- Your Roku has just been connected to your Netflix account.
Chromecast Allows You to Watch Netflix on a Non-Smart TV
Netflix programming may be viewed on your non-smart TV via your Chromecast. You should first install and configure the Google Home app on your mobile device until you can use Netflix with your Chromecast.
- Connect the Chromecast to the TV.
- On your phone, download the Google Home app.
- Link your mobile device to the same Wi-Fi network that your Chromecast is connected to.
- Set up the Chromecast like a new device within the Google Home app.
With the Xbox One, You can Watch Netflix
Complete the steps under whether you have an Xbox One, One S, or One X. Proceed to the following section when you have an Xbox 360.
- To get to the Store, scroll right from the Home screen.
- From the Apps menu, choose Netflix.
- Installation should be chosen.
- To start the app, select Launch.
- To sign on to Netflix on your Xbox, go to Member Sign In and type your login details.
